No price info as of yet. 670 will be out the first or second week of June along with the 650. LG-7000...June. 9900...June. 710 goes through user trials the first or second week of June. June is "Phone" month for Verizon 😁

I read on hofo (confirms pretty much what u said) that "9900 on 6-1,670 n 7000 on 6-15 to coincide w VZW video release of 6-15" I guess the 710 (which is last of the lot to release, is first of the lot to pop up on ebay and has been selling there for a month already, yet the others 670,9900,7000 r not on ebayeven tho theyre due out in few days. Funny huh?

I can only assume from the plethora of answers that Clue's info on the A790 (this IS the A790 forum, right?) is still the latest info: soft May 24th and full release in June. Gotta know the GSM price structure before I can bite, though. Hope its better than what they offer now through "International Traveler".

What exactly do you want to know about the GSM price structure? How much it will be to place and receive calls?

p.s. The Motorola a840 will be out the last week of June or the first week of July 😁 If you dont know, that phone is the same as the 710 with GSM capabilities minus the bluetooth.

How good is the text messaging service on GSM networks outside of the USA? The description of the phone shows that it is for CDMA only. Is that true? I will be going on vacation to the Philippines later this year. I'm sure the text messaging charge will be cheaper than voice calls as well. Thanks in advance.

You will be able to do regular text messaging in GSM mode. You will not be able to send pictures or enhanced messages.

The current VZW international program is not bad as far as the per minute costs. I don't remember the exact numbers (its on their web site under International Roaming) and you only pay $10/month for the access. BUT.... they demand you cough up $300 deposit, regardless of your payment record or credit rating AND they keep the deposit for the entire time you're signed up for the GSM service. No way will anyone put up with that crap. I get T-Mobile with no deposit and the only hassle is I carry two phones.

Someone asked about text messaging. I can't say how it will be handled with VZW. I can receive text messages on my GSM phone from the US and sometimes I can send them to non-US phones but I have to include the country code in the tele...
