I wanna try to make my Droid Charge last as long as I can, and hold off for a smartphone that has the Snapdragon 800 & Qualcomm RF360 chips.

The Snapdragon 800 is very, very impressive!!!
USB 3.0 capable, QuickCharge 2.0, 75% more efficient, all kinds of good stuff!!!

And the Qualcomm RF360 chip is a great improvement to the LTE antenna, and it's more efficient.

I really think these things are worth waiting for.

Sounds like someone who is addicted to the Apple cool aide. Nothing could ever be better than what you have, even if the specs say differently.

If he was "...addicted to the Apple [K]ool Aid[...]" he'd be saying the SAME thing. The 4S -> 5 was ridiculously underwhelming in terms of added features/content. The S4 at least adds a bunch of new software, in addition to sprucing up the hardware a bit.

People need to understand that a brand goes further than just the name "Galaxy", while that is a MAJOR part of it. You'd usually expect something in the same product line to look similar to it, would you not? The S -> S2 was a fairly minimal outer change in the same way that the S3 -> S4 is. I'm not sure what people expect.

Samsung is a very methodical company, very much like Apple is. They aren't going to intro a radically new phone design every iteration of their flagship line.

When Apple kept the same basic design of the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 5, Apple was pretty much leagues ahead of everyone else in terms of hardware design, craft, and build. The only phone hardware I know of that's at eye level now is from HTC.

The Galaxy series, by contrast, are widely regarded as having the worst build and materials. I don't know of another phone with worse build quality and materials at that price range.

That is absolutely true, but my point still holds true about a brand being more than a name.

I would love a premium Samsung device made with METAL. I would likely kill for one. Shoot, I'd pay an extra $50-100 for one.

Yep. It's a shame, because they're doing some cool stuff with multi-window and S-pen, but the devices are painful to look at and touch.

For real. I'm pretty pleased with my GNex, but the SIII feels way cheaper, and assumedly the S4 will as well... As a flagship, it should be getting the deluxe treatment.

OK guys there's plastic, thens there's polycarbonate (like 80% of glasses frames are made of). So how many Samsung phones have u seen with scratches and/or dents, as with metal (usually aluminum). Fairly soft metal. Also wasn't it Apple that had the reception prob, due to the metal band. One other thing how many people do not put a case on their phone, not many. GS4 is quite a jump from GS3. Quad Core (QualComm 600) DDR3 Ram. Come on boys, do u're homework & study long & hard. Then u may understand why millions & millions of folks, all over the World are buying Samsung Quality products.
GS4 almost twice as fast as GS3, not to mention the numerous advanced features, Apple hasn't even considered. 5" screen, smaller lighter phone, bigger REMO...

Oh it's a phenomenal device on paper, I was just saying that my only qualm is materials. Not like I'm going to pass on the only high end phone with a removable battery because it's made of plastic!!

I do agree with you, however whats the sense if people will buy it anyways? A lot of the same things apply to apple. Now what I dont agree with is being years ahead of the others.

To be entirely accurate with no regard to fairness, Apple has never been years ahead of anyone on anything other than sales figures.

It's gonna be interesting to see what happens with IPhone sales in the next two years. The Galaxy S4, Note 3, and HTC One are all stealing IPhone people, even a few of the reviews for the HTC One here on PhoneScoop were of people coming from the IPhone, and I read an article saying LG plans to bring flexible displays to market by the end of this year.

People are bored with the same old, same old IPhone year after year.
