What should I do?

I love the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. It is one of the worst phone builds every (super cheap plastic, broken twice so far) but (in my opinion it has the most amazing software (it has 6 or 7 features that I use that most Android don't offer custom to Samsung)).

So now, here come the HTC One, by far one of the most beautiful phones in aluminum (again, just a personal opinion). However, one would have to be crazy to not put a cover/case on it. I always roll my eyes when I see people carrying their Iphone 5's (with an $800 value) without a case. No matter how careful you are, someone will bump you and then it flies away.

So, if I was careful enough (which I am not) to not need a case, I would snap up the HTC One immediately, even though I w...

Everyone has the same decision to make. How much the design is worth will be different for everyone. You may REALLY like the design on the One, but someone else may not. There may be cases that won't hide the design, and you can also choose to become one of those people who choose not to use a case due to the design, but the decision is yours, and nobody else will know what your priorities are.

I totally understand your dilemma though. 🙂

I"m in the EXACT same boat. Paid full price for the Note 2. Love the specs, absolutely hate the plastic build. The size is awesome, but haven't been a big fan of the over saturated colors with Samsung (my opinion) or the horrible plastic build. If the HTC One was 5 inches, i'd pay full price without hesitation, it looks absolutely gorgeous, plus I love the 1080p display. But 4.7 is just too small. I'm too used to the size of the Note 2 now to go down almost an entire inch. a 5 inch screen is the sweet spot (IMO), i'm so disappointed the One is only 4.7.

Umm. Horrible plastic builds? I actually prefer that. If you also look at the industry reports on reliability the "plastic" builds actually hold up better than some of the metal. I don't like the metal because it gets scratched easily, dents and just does not retain very well. I also find with the metal frame cases it cracks screens very easily because the metal is not as forgiving and the "plastic". Also you need a case anyways so who really cares. But I have the Note II as well and as my wife says size does matter and plastic is hard enough. :-) 🙄

I am the same exact way. I was debating between the HTC One and the Galaxy S4. Design on the HTC One is hands down the winner in my opinion. I really hated covering up that beautiful design with a case but I know that I am clumsy.

My suggestion for you is if you have insurance on the phone already then you could possibly do without a case. Or maybe get the invisishield screen protector for the front and the back if you are worried about scratches, that will provide some protection while not taking away from the design.

What would you do, stay with the Note 2 which has better features (for what I use) or get the cooler looking phone, which won't be so cool once its in a case? Confused.

Why would you buy a phone just because it's cooler looking? 🙄
