Sanyo SCP-5500 / VM-4500
Will this phone have reall text messaging?
I was looking at the 5400 specs. and it listed Text messaging but but reallt its short mail. Will this phone have real sms? or shortmail?

Hopefully we'll have sms up and running before Thankgiving. I can't promise it but we're trying hard to have it available for the holidays.

But does the PHONE ITSELF support sending and receiving of SMS messages? I know the Nokia 3588i has the features on it already. I know the new sanyos that just came out (RL1500, RL2000) DO NOT have SMS capabilities on them which really was a mistake on sanyo's part.

I talked to a rep today and he said this phone will have SMS capabilities. Also, he told me that any phone released after the Nokia 3588i will have SMS capabilites. I'm getting my 5500 on Monday. Thanks.
