I personally don't see anything wrong with it. Whats the most popular single phone on the market? The iPhone. Whats the most popular storage capacity for that phone? The 16gb. What does the iPhone not have? a removable battery. Its really not that complicated to see why HTC went this route. It makes the phone slimmer to have non removable battery, and with only 16gb of internal storage you can justify and 199.99 price tag, so it keeps the phone at a lower price point that the 32gb GSIII or the Note II, and at the same price point as the iPhone 5 and the 16gb GSIII (which doesn't come with a memory card so you'd have to have one or purchase one).
