Just wondering if anyone could advise as to what limitations one would have with 16gb. What will the extra memory allow me to do? Why would I need 64?
Thanks.

Depends on if you take a lot of pics/videos. Or if you buy lots of things thru iTunes, i.e. tv shows/movies. I am going for 32GB. I think that is the sweet spot.

Thanks. I don't do a lot of pics, and hardly any video (taken or purchased). I could see moving my Itunes library onto a phone (about 500 songs). Of course, if I switch to an Iphone, and like the way it works, that could encourage me to do more video and pics. Will have to wait a while and what people say about Iphone 5 once they use it for a while. Also, may want to wait and see if the Blackberry 10 phones meet expectations. I do really like my Blackberry, but not sure I can wait forever for their "improved" models.

My first iPhone was 16G 3GS. Paid $150 & sold 2yrs later for $150. Spent 1st yr learning system. Loaded it with about 100 songs lots of pictures, maybe 1000 and some 50 home videos, average length 2Min. Long story-short - my next phone was iPhone 4 32G paid $170 used, sold it on 9/21 for $260 and bought iPhone 5 64G 2hrs later.... It holds 5000 pictures, 200 home videos and about 350 songs, maybe 120 APPs plus tons of audio recordings from included mic recorder. In other words you may do well to start with 16G and move up over time. I've had my iphone5 since 9/21 and couldn't be happier. Maps app is awesome but disappointed by features missing from Google Maps. Love the fit& finish, weight, thinness, & larger screen... Screen only 4" diagona...

Thanks for your input. It's very helpful. Glad you like your new phone. Saw my niece's I-phone 4S last night. To be honest, it seemed kind of big and clunky compared to my outdated Blackberry Storm. Haven't seen an I-phone 5 in person yet. Will probably wait to see if RIM can actuall get thereBlackberry 10 phones to market early next year. Won't jump to an I-phone unless there is another delay, or the new Blackberries disappoint. I like the way a Blackberry works, and don't want to have to rebuild my calendar, or contacts if I switch platforms.

I went from a Palm device to my iPhone. There were so many different aspects / applications I too was concerned about. Especially Notes... Calender & contacts were an easy transition. Best to have them backed up now on Outlook and / or Google so they can switch to any phone in the future. Or even contact your carrier for their input on this important matter.
