Re: DuraXT Reception?
The DuraPlus user guide gives info on extra-cost GPS services (Navigator and Family Locator) and also explains the 911 locator capability, but nowhere can I find how to use the DuraPlus standalone as Nextel phones can be used for obtaining one's current location. Can you give instructions on how to make a Sprint phone read out the phone's current GPS coordinates, without using any of the extra-cost services and having to have network signal?
The user guides for Nextel phones give clear instructions on how to use Nextel's standalone GPS functionality to obtain one's current location, and it is built into the phone itself, as that capability exists even if the phone has been deactivated, and/or if it is still an active line but is off the network (out of signal range). in Motorola iDEN phones this is truly a standalone GPS capability, built into the phone's chips, and Nextel shows the users how to take advantage of it to obtain their current location in terms of GPS Lat. & Lon. coordinates.
Regarding your Sprint CDMA phone's test mode, can it give you the actual location of the tower to which you were connected when you entered test mode? If so, how do you access that info?
