I have the GS3 and have no problem with battery life. I think it's because you are leaving the WiFi too much. WiFi takes less power than connecting to a cell tower (signal goes a few hundred feet instead of miles). I have WiFi at work and at home and can usually go a day and a half on a charge. But when I travel somewhere where there is no WiFi, my battery barely makes it through the day.
I don't know if I would mess with apps like JuiceDefender. I haven't tried that one in particular, but I've tried other products to help with battery life and I found they didn't really help. The big thing is to not have lot of apps that constantly try to communicate with a server. Like some of the new/weather/social apps that keep a live feed going on a widget.
Good luck with whatever you end up doing, but definitely check into leaving your WiFi on for awhile to see if that helps.
