I would reccommend the ballistic maxx series for the Galaxy s3. This is the best case I have ever had. It is built solid, has reinforced corners and has a user replacable screen protector (not offered by otterbox). Definately check it out.

I have not had any overheating problems while having the case on. The phone doesn't run hot at all even while charging.
