Thought you were never going to get around to posting this phone, nice job. Not that this phone is anything special. I don't recommend buying this - This is a 2G only device, go for a 3G flip.

True.
Even though 2G is going to be phased out in a couple of years(AT&T) says they are waiting until 2017. This is a good stand-by phone when your LTE has problems and needs repair.
I have an old Nokia that I use sometimes when I need a back-up. Does the job.

It took much longer than we wanted to get this phone posted, although it's so low-end that I doubt many people cared. It's so low-end that there isn't any marketing being done for it, so it was difficult to get the info we needed. Our contacts at T-Mobile didn't have the usual stack of info to share.

Yeah, I'm dumbfounded that T-Mobile is still releasing new 2G-only phones. I assume it means they plan to keep GSM around for quite a while, but I don't know why. They should be rushing to ditch it if they care about offering LTE any time soon without severely damaging network performance.

There's a reason Tmobile has always lagged behind the other major carriers.

As far as prices and phones go, they are awesome. If they just improved their rural and suburban coverage, they would be tops. I get lots of complaints about bad signal indoors, and dropped calls. If they can just improve their coverage / signal, they would easily be the best provider in this country.

I agree 100% on this.
I dropped T-Mobile like a full diaper because of their coverage.
Even in some Metro areas they have coverage problems.
The answer I keep getting is, "it's not in our budget" or VZW and AT&T got there first, and then towns did not want any more towers making their towns look ugly.
Then your soccer moms and stuffed suit types whine and moan they have no coverage.

This phone is offered for prepaid. It's big keypad and simple layout will appeal to a certain user. If you buy this phone and lets say they keep pace with AT&T and they shut down their 2G network by 2017, that's over 4 years away! Does anyone really think this device will last 4+ years? It serves a purpose in the market for the pay as you go dumb phone toting 100 minutes a year seniors.
