I have no idea why either. It's gonna mean lots and lots of pissed off customers when 1900 2G dissapears in their area, and suddenly their 6 month old phone doesnt work at all. I think it's becuase of massive overstock on certain devices. I mean, LG stopped making the GS 170 long ago, but T-Mobile still sells refurbished models, and its still for sale at 7-11 as far as I know.
Just gonna mean lots of pissed off people. Do yourself a favour and don't buy a 2G only phone.
