What happends if the USB port is damaged?

May 31, 2012, 8:26 AM
I love this phone but worry since the battery is not removable. My origanal Evo 4G USB port was damaged (due to normal use) but this type of deffect is not covered bye warranty & or store repairs bye Sprint. With the origanal EVO was at least able to purchase an external battery Charger but with this phone will not be possible.

Use the DropBox offer to keep your pics backed up, make sure your contacts are synced with Google or atleast backed up to a memory card. The better prepared for something bad happening the better off you'll be. Get TEP as well if you don't already have it.

I don't know if putting in a plug for stuff I do is ok but if you need a USB port fixed or want to replace the battery with a new one check out my repair / refurb site. I fix HTCs (I do other brands... but call ahead) I fix just about anything with the exception of water damage. I will "attempt" to fix water damaged phones but I can't give any guaranty because this can suddenly fail again due to corrosion eating connectors and so on. If your phone gets wet DO NOT TURN IT ON! Remove the battery if possible. Forget putting it in Rice. Rice absorbs water when you boil it! This is an old racist joke that people are repeating as techno fact. The one way I know how to fix this is to give the phone a bath in 99% Alc...
