Micro-USB chargers

My Droid 4 came with a wall charger that has 5.1 volts and 850mAmp output via a micro-USB cable plugged into it. That cable can be removed and plugged into a computer to charge as well.

I have a charger from my old HTC Touch Pro2 that has 5 volts and 1000mAmp output via a mini-USB cable that plugs into the charger.

If I buy a micro-USB cable and plug that into the HTC charger, will it work with my Droid 4 to charge it SAFELY?

Googling this issue raises doubts that Moto is behaving with any "standard" micro-USB being able to charge their phones.

Yes, it will work. The voltage is key - the phone will only draw as many mAmps as necessary but if it's insufficient, it won't charge at all. 0.1 volts seems more than in tolerance for a phone to charge.

That is what I suspected. Thank you for clarifying it.
