I don't know about too late--but that 800mhz processor should certainly be avoided. At least when it comes to Android.

Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 MSM8655 at 800MHz performs better than several other 1GHz processors.
This phone has enough RAM, the phone is fast running (almost stock) android 2.3.
Is small and at almost 1cm easy to carry around in your pocket.
The phone is good (very good on it's own range).

Maybe you need to try with another SD card.
Even the newest micro SD cards are backward compatible with older standards, and should be recognized by your phone with no problem (if it doesn't exceed the 32GB).
However software errors are not that rare on LG phones.
