weird thing happening

Okay, this is really weird, maybe someone here can help me.
I have only dropped my phone once, about 6 and a half months ago, and it was in a leather case, and worked perfect. Up until about a week ago. Actually, it still works fine, it just does funny things. (And my dog hears the sounds it makes, so I know I'm not imagining them.)
I was getting ready for work, and I hear 3 very very low, barely audible tones, doo-doo-doooh, repeated 3 times. And, (I only noticed this because I was looking almost at it, trying to listen for what was making the sound) my phone's LED service light started flashing *green*. It has been flashing green for about a week now, at about the same interval as the missed message red light. (I have check every me...

It's possible that the "service LED" option somehow got switched on. Go to the main menu, Setup (7), Display (2), and the last option is Service LED (7). It can be set on or off. When it's on, the green light blinks to let you know that you've got service without you having to look at the screen. I don't know what it does if you don't have service, but my guess would be it blinks red. I always leave this option off because it wastes battery life.

If you check this option and you're sure it's turned off, and you are still getting a blinking green light for no reason, then something is definitely wrong with your phone, and you should try to get Verizon to replace it. As for the beeps... I have no explanation for that.

That makes sense, but as far as I can recall, that setting has always been on. I think it was factory-set on. The manual doesn't explain what most of this stuff does, so I've left most of the factory-presets alone.
Thank you for the reply.
It is a most interesting situation.

Yes, the manual is terrible in describing the function of the Service LED. It says that you turn it "on" in order to have the LED blink when you have an incoming call, message, or an alarm going off. This is incorrect. The LED will always blink for messages and alarms, regardless of the Service LED setting. What the setting actually controls is whether the light will blink every few seconds when the phone is not in use, to let the user know that the phone is getting a signal, ie it is able to make and receive calls on the network.

If the LED setting has always been "on", then the blinking green light is normal. It should have been doing this before the other problems started as well. Maybe you just never noticed it until now. If th...

I'm another 670 user with the same problem. Mine seems to give just one faint ring. It only happens occasionaly. Doesn't log in as an unanswered call in voice mail. I have not noticed the blinking light since the phone is typically in my pocket when it happens.
