Samsung SCH-A670

The car chargers that are being sold at the Verizon store are, according to Samsung, third party chargers and will ruin the battery life on the A670 phone if used even one time. Samsung, therefore, says that they will not honor the one year policy for replacement of the phone battery because I used a "third party" car charger. The customer service agents at the Verizon store said that they never heard of such a thing and that they only sell one kind of car charger. I even went so far as to have the customer service rep at Verizon call Samsung to verify what was being told to me. The Verizon rep told the Samsung rep that they have been selling these same car chargers for years. Verizon said that Samsung was just trying to get out of honoring the one year warranty on the battery. They very nicely gave me another brand new battery and another car charger. The problem is that I am afraid to use the car charger because I don't want to ruin the new battery, should Samsung be correct in what they are saying. Has anyone else had this problem? The car charger I have now is SAM18PVPC.
