To hold these 5+ inch phones. Forget about belt clips for this thing, my atrix is already too big for my belt clip. At least this phone will offset my big head!

droid x? the evo and htch d2 had 4.3 in screens LONG before the droid x...and that was back in 2010 for the evo and 2009 for the htc hd2.

I want a tablet phone. Darn it, they just don't make screens big enough! It may take both hands to hold the massive device next to my head and need a belt holster the size of Noah's Ark but I wanna big phone!
I'm joking of course, I hate these massive screens. If I want a large screen I'll get a tablet or laptop. Otherwise the iPhone size is perfect for me. A phone looks retarded when it's the size of your head. They're the modern day dual-size quad cab pickup trucks. Just because it's bigger doesn't mean its better.
On another note, I think we're stepping back from the future. Instead of phones getting more compact their getting bigger. And instead of phone calls being popular and easy people would rather send texts, which is...

People have different needs. Some like it bigger, some smaller. Ask your girl what she likes ;-).
Joking aside, for ladies, with large bags and such, the "packet size" does not mean as much for the guys. If you are a womam and spend much time comutting to wark, a nice large screen is perfect -- read news, play games, etc. w/o straining your eyes. Text plans? Send emails instead in case you do not want to pay text charges.

I was about to buy this despite the size because it had all of the features I want, but due to the unusually large size I decided to head to Best Buy and check it out to be sure I could deal with the size.
Boy, am I glad I checked it out. It's WAY too big. No way in heck it would fit comfortably in my pocket.
