So......I got the razr today. Awesome phone to start with, but as I was programming it, I noticed that when there is an all black screen that there are lines or ink blot looking things in the screen. The lines do not show up under normal use or when there are colors other then black displayed If you want to see what I am talking about, turn off the flash on the camera, cover up the camera lens and take a picture so you end up with a black picture. Now view that picture in a dark room and you will most likely see black lines or ink plot looking marks in the screen. Rest assured, I went back to the Verizon store immediately and there happened to be a Motorola Representative there at the time. I asked to speak with him. I actually looked at his...

That is common with Samsung's OLED screens. Samsung does make the panel in the RAZR. When you crank the brightness way down and/or view very dark grays, there can be "streaks". That's just natural variation in the material. The "O" in OLED stands for organic, so even though they do a good job controlling the quality of the material, it's never going to be perfectly consistent.

You can't be serious to write this whole harang. This is a very minor issue IMHO. A great phone and a great display unless you are looking at a black screen in a dark room lol.

For $300 plus tax, it should be problem free and it is not.

Welcome to the world of smartphones. No $300 smartphone is completely problem free. Never have, never will.

I know no smartphone is perfect! This is my third android smartphone. All of my previous smartphones never had any problem with the screen, nor should any, especially a $300 one. Yes, I have had many software bugs, but no firmware issues such as this.

There is no excuse. Everyone can try to justify the problem, but it will always be there when we know it should not be.
