I imagine there's a special reset button combination or reset button hole, although I can't confirm that at the moment.

Current phone batteries do lose some ability to hold a charge after a certain number of charge cycles. It's usually not too bad at one year, but at 18 months, it's noticeable, and at the two year mark, easily 30% less than on day one. Most people - especially those who buy a top-end phone like this - will upgrade by the two-year mark. But yes, it's certainly a disadvantage of a phone like this.
