Can't remove the battery?

Really Motorola? In this day and age you make a phone you can't remove the battery? So now we have to go the apple route and pay $50+ and send in our phone to get the battery replaced?

Very lame. ☹️

It's the thinnest Android phone in the US, if not the world. The battery is the compromise. It's the only way to make it that thin.

If the battery can't be removed then how does the user reset the phone? I can't count the number of times I've had to remove the battery on my Droid X ... getting GPS to work requires a battery pull more often than I would prefer.

Beyond that, I've read several references regarding the reduction of a Li battery's ability to hold a charge after one year. What then - ship it off to Moto for a new battery, throw the phone away, live with a shorter charge cycle?

I imagine there's a special reset button combination or reset button hole, although I can't confirm that at the moment.

Current phone batteries do lose some ability to hold a charge after a certain number of charge cycles. It's usually not too bad at one year, but at 18 months, it's noticeable, and at the two year mark, easily 30% less than on day one. Most people - especially those who buy a top-end phone like this - will upgrade by the two-year mark. But yes, it's certainly a disadvantage of a phone like this.

If you buy your phone at Best Buy and get the Geek Squad Protection, not only will they replace the phone deductible free an unlimited amount of times but it also includes a one-time battery replacement, so at the 18 month mark let them know and you'll get a new battery to get you through the final six months of your contract.

Just like the I phone the Razr has an alternate reset method. If you power the phone off, hold the up and down volume keys in together then push the power button the phone will boot into boot mode.

You'll have a few screen option with reset being one of them. This is also an alternate way to do a master reset on the phone so be careful lol.

Volume keys let you move up and down and power is your select key

Cry me a river on the battery

I've never replaced a battery on any phone and i've owned many smart phones including Android

Its got a good sized battery so life should be solid, something like 1750mah

You can reboot it by holding the power and volume down keys

The two finger salute won't do a darn thing if the phone locks up which it will since it's a Motorola and is running GB.
Nobody cares about battery life when one cannot remove it to reset the phone.
