could not activate cellular data network

I just got my 4s and I'm getting no access to data. Verizon told me it was a wide spread issue with the MEID and they're working on a fix. I did some searches and I found no related issues with 4s. Is Verizon giving the runaround or does anyone know if this is a real issue?
