Nope. CDMA does not allow for simultaneous voice and data. Unless if you're on wifi...

Talking and surfing simultaneously on Verizon and Sprint requires one of the 4G phones.

Yes it does. You can surf the web and talk with any smartphone via CDMA as long as you are connected to wifi. And you can do that without wifi if you are using a 4G device. I cannot stand when people state that without any research!

Huh? You're confirming the point, not disproving it.

CDMA does not allow simultaneous data and voice.

Wi-Fi for data is one way around that, as both of you mentioned.

4G LTE technology does allow simultaneous voice and data, but that's not CDMA.

No, it's not. It's a completely new and different technology. In fact, it was invented by the same standards groups that gave the world GSM and WCDMA.

Yes, it does. SV-DO allows for simultaneous 1X voice and EV-DO data. But no evidence thus far indicates that the iPhone 4S chipset is SV-DO capable.

Additionally, IS-95B, a later protocol revision to the original cdmaOne standard, also supported simultaneous voice and data.

Does it really matter? The iPhone 4s isn't 4g capable anyways except for on AT&T which is using the very base line of their HSPA+ network (HSDPA). Thus, your talking and surfing isn't going to happen unless you Rethink Possible.

p.s. you know you like the slogan usage lol 😉
