I pretty much agree with you, hobbitboy. I think the Moto 730 is the best of the phones that Verizon currently offers. I tried just about all the LB's and Samsungs. My only complaint would be the low volume in the earpiece; you have to hold it just right so you can hear. Otherwise, the reception and call quality is excellent.
In spite of no camera, no video, and no speakerphone, I like it because of it's great reception, and it sounds the most like a land line of any phone--both on my end, and for the person I'm calling. Calls are very steady--no fading out, no static, crystal clear sound. That's what's most important to me on a cell phone.
I migrated from the V60i which I still think was (and maybe still is) the best phone of it's time from Verizon. I occasionally switch back to that phone when traveling when I know I'll be in noisy airports and stuff--the volume is much better, and style and durability excellent.

I await the new Motorola's, and hope they match the quality of the V60i with the addition of color and new tech features.
