Very good first impression on your new device. Good luck with it!
I would like to comment on a few points you brought up about form-factor, and cosmetics. I agree the Storm2 stock zen icons are pathetic. I've circumvented that by DL several themes with much improved icon design. It brings a pleasant and custom look to my device. It seems as if RIM will not go to the plate providing OS7 theme-builder tools. So that aspect has been thrown under the bridge.
I find your remarks about the lock key (which I find to be a crucial component) very interesting. Its one of the reasons I returned my 9850. I could not handle the device without something opening up. Comparing the 9850 to several Droid devices, I found the Torch to be much more sensitive to this issue. Its a shame they did away with sure press. I'm accurate with it. Do not have the problem apps opening by chance-contact.
How do you like the partial word "Wheel of Fortune" game? That was driving me crazy...I saw it as really poor software design. You must be thrilled to be involved with CrapWorld and DopiHand support. Two more vehicles of futility.
My trusty Storm will carry the back position on my belt (I need that pushed email to AOL. However, the main device just might be the Samsung Nexus CDMA. That screen, the browser, the spec #s, that new 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. I'll be carrying two devices... my Drip2 and a real smartphone handset.
Keep me posted with your navigation on the Torch. Can you still bake a cake while its booting up? Read the blogs on CrapBerry and have a box of Kleenex by your side.
