So if I drop this thing at least the screen won't crack into a million pieces, it will just sort of pop out and the rest of it will fall apart 
Plastic is an interesting choice. The excuse I heard was to save weight. Other blackberries have them too but I would still rather have glass.
No a deal breaker for me, but that other fruit phone keeps calling me Rumor has it that they got rid of the glass on the back of that one and replaced it with metal
