Re: Battery life on this compared to the Infuse....
Properly coded apps don't take any battery life when they aren't in the foreground and you don't have the settings to update every few minutes. However if you kill a ton of tasks all the time, and any of them are required, they will take battery life to re-initialize themselves.
Today was my first day with my Samsung Galaxy S2. I started at 6:00 a.m. connected to wifi, and downloaded like 36 podcasts. Then I listened to an hour's worth before work, and then 2 hour's worth at work while playing with it as I could. Then I played around with the phone for a couple of hours and the dang thing was still at 31 percent around 10:00 p.m. I had to do a lot of things to kill the battery before midnight. So I'm curious what would lead it to die so quickly with you considering you generally wouldn't be downloading 30+ podcasts and 50+ apps a day. I forgot to turn off wifi, my gps was on (which doesn't affect battery nearly as much now adays through more software tweaks) etcetera.
Heck I even talked to my girlfriend for an hour and 12 minutes. By all means if the phone only had 3.5 hours of talk time, the battery should have died before I finished that call since it was on ALL day.
Then again I don't have twitter and some of the other data intensive apps on my phone yet, so if you were getting such bad results... sounds like a PEBCAK. I mean there's even a power saving mode that activates at 50 percent.
Phonescoop says the talk time is like 8 hours on this phone. I wouldn't doubt it with my experience thus far.
