is awesome. Best screen currently in the business, feels good in the hand, 10+ hours battery life with moderate usage, not buggy and Beats by Dre is pretty impressive sonically.

I'm not sure why anybody would pick up a razr over this and on paper it looks like it may be even better than the nexus.

I would have to agree with you. I have been using this phone for about 3 days now and love it. I like the Sense UI of the HTC much better than Motorola. Personally, I think the Droid Razr is a gimmick to get people to buy the phone. The rezound in every aspect to me is a much better phone. By the Beats Headphones outstanding!!

Care to explain this at all? As in, the RAZR being a gimmick how exactly? Because it's thin? Last time I checked, form factor of a phone is only a gimmick if it's a slide-out speaker (surround) or a dual screened phone (Kyocera Echo).

I've had both of these in my hand and have spent hours with each one. I opted for the Razr because HTC Sense makes the 1.5 gHz dual core feel slower than the Razr's 1.2 gHz dual core. The Razr feels smoother. Size and weight wise, it's not a comparison.

Don't call it a "gimmick" because it hands your phone it's ass in a particular area. Besides, if anything is a gimmick in a phone it's Beats Audio.

I like the Rezound too...I just don't think it's as good a phone as the Razr. Great screen, sure. But I'm over HTC Sense.

Its twice the phone that the razr is, you're just biased because you don't like sense. Better screen, better processor, better cameras, better radio, equvalent (if not better) battery life, better form factor.

Alright buddy, as someone who owned the first HTC Sense Android phone I wouldn't say my reasons for not liking "Sense" are biased. Nice try though. It hogs the resources of the phone more than Moto Blur (at least the newer toned down version that Motorola implemented in the Bionic, Razr, Photon and Atrix 2) I will give HTC Sense its credit- the widgets provided with that particular UI are top notch. Also, the contact navigation is better. Other than that, nothing much to write home about over other MFG UI's or stock android.

Better screen, yes, I've already said that. However a lot of that is also based on opinion. It does have more ppi and a higher resolution but the colors aren't as bright and vivid. Some people prefer brighter, almost ...

I've had 2 HTC phones and liked both of them a lot. I wanted to like the Rezound and GLADLY would've bought the phone, HTC Sense included, if I actually liked it better than the Razr. I don't. Sorry.

Also, I would've thought by now that manufacturers would learn NOT to put the charging port on the side. Makes using the phone while charging horribly awkward. Top or bottom is best.

Good luck if your phone locks up and power+volume down doesn't work to reset your phone. I will NEVER own a phone without a removable battery. Yes HTC sense hogs resources more than blur. Blur is a skin. It has no features and adds very little to the user experience. If you add in the fact that you have to download a facebook widget, calendar widget, messaging, email and everything else Sense does, you would use the same resources.

I absolutely love my Rezound. I was deciding between the Rezound and the Razr when Amazon was doing the $.01 sales and I decided to port my numbers over to Verizon from Sprint. I went into the store and played with the phones before I made my final decision. And the HTC won hands down.

The Razr seemed like a nice phone at first but I realized a thicker more solid feeling form factor didn't bother me. I was also hesitant about the thinness because I believe that a phone should only be so thin given what it is being use for and what is inside of it. I say this coming from a Samsung Epic Touch 4G on Sprint. If I did anything more than send a text message the phone would eventually start to heat up and I could feel it because of how thin the ...

I have owned Verizon Driod, Droid X, ATT Samsung Infuse, and now Verizon HTC Rezound. 1st of all.. never ever go with AT&T.. their phones don't work in buildings. They just don't. As far as phones go.. here are the facts. Motorolla phones are great for about 4 months.. then they become glitchy, freeze up, and need almost daily reboots. Everyone knows motorolla phones.. we have all had one at some point and they are not reliable. The Rezound is a phone for the 'techie' person. It has so many widgets, menus, scroll selections, check boxes, options upon options, it never ends. The screen is good but the samsumng super AMOLED screens are the biggest and brightest and shaprest out there. The samsung reception is kinda spotty though. Rezound has t...

Read PhoneArena's side by side comparison. If I'm biased, these boys are surely not. They're known for their quality reviews.

"As we’ve come to expect, both handsets have their own unique perks and characteristics that make them so beloved in the eyes of the consumer, but it's the Motorola DROID RAZR that’s able to impress us most."

Great phone? Yes.
Twice the phone? So much for that

The razr is a over-hyped device. The camera is sub-standard, the software is glitchy and will require a mid-day charge. Thats your idea of a better phone? It has a cool form factor, fast processor and big screen, the rest is crap.

razr has motocast and smart actions which by themselves are enough reasons to go with the razr.

besides, the hardware is phenomenal on the razr while the htc is just the same old htc style

the lock screen is cool on the new sense, that's about i'll give the rezound over the razr

razr can uninstall non vzw bloatware - this is a big win for me - pretty sure the htc can't do this

do keep in mind sense was mainly created for windows mobile - an os so hideous a UI was needed to make it user friendly. When android first came out it wasn't as user friendly so sense still made sense (no pun intended). But as android progressed sense has become more and more redundant and pointless. When ICS comes out sense will be completely useless and ...

I want it. The price is too high. I wish Best Buy would bring back Free Fridays in six months and make this phone a free phone. By then it will be obsolete by smartphone standards, right? Or is this just wishful thinking?

This is VERY promising. I think I will still wait for Best Buy to get it cheaper, however. $199.99 is the price this phone should have started at. Damn Verizon for raising the price of ALL their smartphones to recoup the money they are losing from selling the iphone.

Verizon has the Thunderbolt for $0.00 on its website currently. This may portend additional price cuts on other 4G devices.

Amazon has the Rezound for $99.99 for new customers and $179.99 for existing. If it were $99.99 for existing I would pull the trigger. I'll give it three more months. Verizon will have launched a lot of 4G Flagship devices by then.
