Replying to: D3 or iPhone 4?? by awood740
Re: D3 or iPhone 4??
Because of the open-source development model, and low (as in nil) development cost (the android SDK is freely available for download, and you can be writing your own android programs in minutes, compared to spending hundreds of dollars for the ios SDK, annual license fees to apple, and even then no guarantee your program will be accepted to the market) there will never be the same level of "polish".
On the other hand, there is no shortage of people who actually know how the phone works, and how to fix it when things go wrong, so unlike the iphone 4, when things break, you aren't forced to go crawling back to apple for help. Every person I know who has had an iphone has had to go to apple for support numerous times, for stuff I could fix in 5 minutes, or walk them through fixing in maybe 10, on an android phone. One friend lives in HI, where there isn't an apple store, so has had to send the iphone back to apple, and now will be phoneless for at least several weeks.
So, I guess it's a pick your poison kind of situation.
(oh, and my D3 is coming Monday too)
