I sure don't see much comment about this phone. Seems like a lot of people are holding out. Which costs Verizon more money, selling phones cheaply every two years, or us keeping our phones longer and not buying new ones. This is the longest I have ever kept a phone.

Probably becuase this really isnt a *new* device. Sure, it is a phone that has a keyboard and the way it looks exactly and or works may be *new*, but this device is NOT a new idea, it does not have any new features, and it can't do anything that any other devices can't do, it cant even connect to the fastest available network. You could pay less for a better phone - with any carrier.

Can someone who has actually bought this phone clarify if it has an SD card slot? Also, how is the keyboard. Is the tactile feel any better than the Droid 1 or Droid 2?

I have been playing with it since Friday evening. It does have a card slot, it just does not come with a card. The key board is solid. No the phone itself is not ground breaking tech at all but it seems to do what it does well. My only concern for any one wanting it is the 512 of ram, I feel it should have had more to match the dual processor. I plan on getting the Bionic unless something comes along better or it turns into a flop. This phone will be used by my girl and will fit the need. I would say this may turn out to be one of the better phones on vzw. Lets face it some of them are not holding up.

I am getting an android after 3 years of my old phone. I got a Samsung Gem but after the first day, I couldn't receive a text and it kept freezing had to turn it on but wouldn't stay on. We took it back and they said it was defective and would replace but I decided to upgrade. This is an entry level phone I was told by Verizon. The only thing that really worries me is it had excellent call quality, no dropped calls and I could use in the house since I am sick right now. I looked at everything they had but they are all so large. I wanted another Samsung but don't like the styles. The Motorola Droid Global was just the size and has a pull out keyboard. I had trouble with the heat sensitive small keys. On July 14 the Motorola Droid 3 will be in...

I have had my Droid 3 for about 24 hours now and it is fantastic. Still learning may way around all then new features. First day battery life was great. Far better than the Groid or the Droid 2 Global. My only issue is the camera. Photos are very high quality but the color balance stinks. All the photos and the videos have a bluish cast to them. The color on the Droid 2 Global is great but not this baby.

Today I stopped by the Verizon store and campared with the one on display. That one looked much better. The Verizon guy took a quick look and thinks the camera in this one is defective. He wanted to swap it out but I was pressed for time and said I would come by on Saturday and have him swap it out. Other than that the device is ...

Markn455,
The white balance is really off. To prove your not nut, look at the image you took with the Droid 3 on a computer and check the histogram. You will notice its blue.

Try this out. Use the front facing camera and take a picture of the same objects ( something white or outside.) Front facing camera seems to be fine with better detail.

OK, if that is the case, I would be waisting my time having them swap out the phone then? If they are all that way... Hmm. I also noticed there is no way to set the white balance on the phone. No lighting setting that have found so far.

Bevstoys,
I had my new Droid 3 replaced 2 hours after I got it because of that that blueish tint. It's still there but its less then the first one i had. There needs to be a firmware update to fix it because there are zero white balance controls.

It's a white balance issues for sure and nto hardware. I had to yell at the Verizon lady. She was like it's not blue. I said lady im going to get midevil on you with your non-stop lies or blindness.

I grabbed 3 people in the Verizon store and I said what color is that? They said blue and it looks really bad. I said yep... She exchanged it but its still there just not as bad.

I had a Droid 1 for years and it always for the most part took good pictures.

I notice something also o...
