Just got the Nokia 6600 phone last week.
(won it) Lucky me.
Cingular sent me the SIM card but no signal
appears. Accoring to Cingula, AT&T, and T-Mobile this phone should work. I am not getting any signal period. Do I need to get the PUK (unlock code) from Cingular. I have another friend that has this phone on Cingular.
Any advice or suggestions ?

If you can see the signal indicator of the phone and you don't get the message "Please insert correct Sim", then you must be in the main screen. which means your phone is unlocked. Try to go to the connection settings and change from automatic to manual search for signal. Then select the correct carriers name.
Good luck.

A PUK code is not a SIM Unlock code. It is given to you by the operator to unlock your SIM (not your phone) if you enter your PIN incorrectly 3 times and lock yourself out of your SIM.

It is more likely that your phone is attempting to register on a network that does not allow your SIM. (i.e. trying to use a Cingular SIM to access, or roam on, T-Mobile's network).

To verify if this is the case, manually scan for networks and select the one you want. See if it is accepted (go to settings->net...
