Motorola has never really had a good track history of making CDMA phones for Sprint. Hence the long hiatus from...

I think it has more to do with Sprint's product plan. Motorola didn't fit in because Sprint was getting such great products from HTC and Samsung. Motorola has been slow to market with the smart phones (they were living fat off the Razor for far too long), so Sprint chose other suppliers.

Moto has had no trouble supplying product to Verizon, which is also CDMA, so I do not think the technology had anything to do with it.

Recent product announcements with all the major carriers has shown that Motorola has finally caught up.

HTC has been kicking tail espcially @ Sprint. When I look at the CDMA products Motorola has had out for Verizon I can't wait to see their offering for Sprint's line up. Push to Talk CDMA...yep...its coming.
Super fast 4G access and International Radios!

HTC doesn't need to be scared but should seriously look at whats being added to the line up.

I live in a 4G area and cannot wait to experience the webtop experience and streaming movies to me HDTV.

I went to the Sprint store today to look at the Photon. The floor sample was totally locked up. Couldn't get it to restart. I couldn't remove the battery since they had the antitheft device on it. I asked the store people about it and they said it had been locking up all day.

They brought out another one for me to try. It looked nice and seemed to run well.

One thing that puzzled me is that the power and HDMI cable hook up are on the side. One the BOTTOM SIDE when the phone has the kick stand deployed. This is so stupid, does anyone try these things before they are put into production? If you are going to stream video and use the kickstand how long is that battery going to last? Don't you think most people...

If you flip the device so the charger port is pointed up the kickstand will still support the device and you will be able to charge and stream at the sametime. If you ask me MOTO did a hell of a job on this handset.

I did order one (its on back order now), I like my EVO but really wanted a world phone, and a bit better battery life.

I hope you are correct about the ability to use the phone on the other side.

The ports on the side of the phone are a bad idea! It doesn't work with the kick stand I'd you have it on the charger. If you flip it over the picture is upside down for Netflix and also Vulkano (streaming video from my cable tuner to the phone). They certainly should have put it on the other side and had the phone switch orientation when it is in the dock! Or put the connectors on the bottom and make the dock a bit different.

Really I think I am not unique when I stream video, I like the kickstand and I like to plug in the phone when possible since it eats batteries doing this. The poor choice of location for the ports (any of the three other edges would have been better) is really annoying.
