LTE and WCDMA and GSM are three separate technologies and networks.

LTE and CDMA are two separate technologies and networks.

The chipsets are integrated, but AT&T's phones do not have fewer radios.

AT&T's claims of better battery life are about needing only one radio on at the same time. It actually has more radios, but AT&T phones don't need to leave two radios on at the same time, like Verizon's.

Thanks Rich for always informative explanations. I don't feel AT&T will have upper hand though as whatwhatjbdo is saying. Battery life will suck on this device no matter what. It's just the nature of LTE. 1600mah isn't good enough for an LTE based smartphone let alone an Android based LTE smartphone period
