GSM, Roaming etc

Just got and XPRT tonight to replace a Hero.

This phone is Sprints version of the Droid Pro. From some brief testing it looks like this phone is NOT SIM locked. It recognizes my TIM (Italy) SIM and my US Tmobile SIM and does not ask for a Subsidy Unlock Code.

That said the phone will not work in the US for GSM voice or DATA. From the Driod Pro forums it appears that the Radio supports all 4 GSM voice bands as well as the same US and World 3G Data bands with the Iphone does. So technically it could be a world wide 3G GSM device, but not 3G on Tmobile US ever. Like the Droid Pro it appears that Motorola has put in firmware that disables the phones ability to connect to US carriers GSM Networks by rejecting their network ID's....
