BlackBerry Bold 9900

I went from the curve 8310 to the bold 9700 and thought it was a huge improvement. It wasn't enough to satisfy my curiosity so I made the move to android. I've owned the android for just over a year now and I'm seriously considering moving back to blackberry. I just can't figure out why blackberry won't allow you to customize your screen and make the move to widgets. It seems kind of juvenile I'm sure, but it's a little thing that makes a big difference. It seems ironic to me that blackberry, an os that has always given you a ton of freedom (easily allowing you to take your full length songs and set as ring tones, easily customize the background image) is going to be the last to allow you to fully customize and personalize your home screen. Am I alone here?
