I have been waiting for Sprint to get a 540 x 960 pixel phone. This one seems like a good candidate, but I hate the HTC Sense UI. It's especially pointless on an Android phone. How easy is it to disable Sense UI on an HTC Android phone and do you lose anything by doing so, other than a fricken huge clock that takes up way too much real estate?
...
Sense is the bomb, the clock is a widget, just remove it. Sense is way better than touch wiz and motorolas deal..lol
...
What exactly about Sense is "way better" than plain Android 2.3? I can understand Sense on a Windows Mobile 6.x phone (well, except for the constant crashing that went away when I removed it), but why does Android need another interface on top of it?
...
In your opinion, what are the stand out high points of Sense?
...
It's mostly just widgets, which are easy enough to delete from your home screen. There are a few other tweaks, but I can't imagine them getting in the way for anyone. What do you not like about it?
...
I don't think you can disable Sense manually. I personally like the Sense interface. I know there are home replacement apps on the Market that you might want to look into. However, some home replacement apps are based on how Sense looks like. I have never rooted by device before but I would assume there would be a customer ROM out there for Sense based devices that would rid of Sense however I cant confirm that, you would have to look into that yourself.

Sense is just an overlay and all of the widgets can be deleted and make the phone look very similar to stock android. This phone will be very popular and you will more than likely be able to run a version of Cyanogen Mod custom rom when that becomes available that is based on stock android.
You really should give sense a try though. It should run great on this phone. A lot of people knock it because they dont like the clock widget. Remember with Android, you can customize everything, dont want the clock, just remove it.

Just use a different home screen launcher. I'm pretty sure you don't have to be rooted to do so. I am rooted and have been so for a while so I can't remember, but ADW launcher is what you want to use if you want the stock Android look. You just lose all the widgets that Sense comes with.
I personally use Launcher Pro and love it.
...
to disable HTC Sense just download an app called LauncherPro it'll make the phone AOSP (Sense-less) but Idk how well the 3D will work with it...
...
i hate sence too. stock android is much better and faster than having all those extra programs running.
root your phone and flash clockwork mod recovery to it. then download a custom rom that dose not have sence added to it. there you go and you also get free hotspot.

u cant disable htc sense on a phone the reason htc motorola samsung all make skins is to diffrenciate themselves from one another now sense is nice but not everyone likes it u can replace the launcher with one from the market true.. but i think the reason he wants to remove it is becuase sense is a very big file hell the reason the evo will never see the newer version of sense is because it would bog down the phone if your trying to remove sense in order to speed up your phone the only real way is to root your phone and flash a rom make sure you do your reasearch tho not all androids are the same sum can be alot harder all depends on the bootloader itself weather its locked or not you could brick your phone if your not careful if your going ...

You can do it easily. But I am not going to tell you because Sense is the reason I have an Evo and love it! Good luck on your journey.
BTW if you don't like sense don't get a phone that runs on it. All the other phones have bland UI's.
