blinking lights

so today i had the phone set to silent (lights only) and it just started blinking. even if i opened the slider the lights still wouldn't stay on. i ended up just turning it off, and back on again and then it was fine. any ideas why?

the exact same thing has happened to me to. open, close, push end... lights keep blinking. turned it off and on just like you. it stopped. no explanation though.

That phone's got some issues with the first batch that was sent out. The next release of firmware updates should fix those problems, among a few other bugs (Voice activated commands sometimes don't work)

will people with these phones be able to get any sort of updates to fix the problems or only people buying the updated phone?

Though I'm not professor murder, I'm pretty sure that you should be able to update your software through your carrier. I know VZW has *228 to update both tower locations and phone software versions. I would imagine that this should solve your problems. Also, I know at least for Verizon, if there were widespread problems with the software they might try to fix and/or replace your phone. I actually got a new T720 due to bad software.
