Comparison HTC Touch Pro 2 and HTC Arrive

Please reply to this post and add your comments comparing the two Sprint Windows Phones.

Many HTC Touch Pro 2 users are considering this upgrade and your comments are appreciated.

I do not own the HTC Arrive yet, but I had a chance to use one for a short time. Here are my comments on the new phone:

Size: The HTC Arrive is slightly narrower and thinner than the Touch Pro 2. On the other hand, it is slight longer. This slight adjustment in size makes it nicer to hold than the Touch Pro 2. Weight is approximately the same.

Hardware: This phone does not have GSM roaming. This is a necessary feature for a true business phone in a global economy in which CDMA is not the standard. The mute button on the back of the Touch Pro 2 was a very nice feature for conference calls. That button is not included on the Arrive.

Software: Initial impressions of Win7 are mostly positive. It runs smoothly on this phone, but ...

Got the HTC Arrive on launch day and very impressed. I'm not sure why everyone always nit-picks Windows Mobile phones. They seem to get bashed just because it has "Windows" written on it. Anyway, even with the 3.6" screen it is a good size screen and big enough for most usage. If you use the Internet Explorer a lot, I would agree the screen is a little small for that use. But if you download apps to read certain websites, like CNN, MSNBC, Tech News, etc...The apps format these websites perfectly and bring you all the news and information you would ever need in a day.

The keyboard with tilt-screen is also great and surpasses the Samsung Epic and previous keyboards on HTC devices. Buttons feel great. Syncing with my Zune software was painle...

I just read on Microsofts website that this phone does not support ActiveSync or any other software for directly synching Microsoft Outlook with the phone. Just like Android, this phone requires that you upload all your contacts to google or bing. This is a deal breaker for me.
