yes, you can play mp3's but you first have to convert the file to either a .wav file or .wma file. if it is in the .wav format you can set the file as your ringtone. it is recommended to put all of the files on a SD memory card to conserve space on the phone and also so the phone will operate more efficiently while playing the files.
