Does anyone know if you can listen to MP3s while the phone is closed or if it needs to be open. The reason I ask is because I am looking for a phone with plenty of storage, a good browser, and a good MP3 player-in addition to a good phone. I have the nokia 3300 but it won't support SD only MMC so thats getting returned, but I like the ability to play mp3s and aac files.

Yes the mp3 player can work while the phone is closed. You can also have the player working in the background while you are using other programs in the phone. And it is capable of using the 1gb card for sd so it will hold plenty of songs. Hope that helps

🙄

Well since I already invested in the MMC 256mb card for Nokia 3300 (I have had it for 2 mo.) any chance the phone accepts both formats? Both SD & MMC? Or do I need to start over? Also is there a stero headset I can attach to listen to mp3s without other people listening?

I bought my Nokia 3300 to listen to mp3s while I work out and its perfect, but I want flip mp3 player that is more compact, with headphones....

Yes, I understand that. I just sold mine on eBay because it was just too big when I went out running to listen to my MP3s. It just wasnt small enough for me.

🙂

The only thing I am not sure of is if it will play aac files. The phone comes with a windows media player with plays mp3, wma video and I believe mpeg-1 format files. I know there is 3rd party shareware avail. for smartphones 2002 which play a variety of files.

Yes you can listen to MP3's through the speakerphone while it's closed. It's not loud enough to hear in loud areas. You can't use MP3 as ringer, but if you convert MP3 to WMA you can use it as ringer.
