Just purchased this phone a week ago... Love the phone! But I noticed a problem... First Night I charged it I woke up the phone was completely turned off.. I had to remove the battery to power it back on... This happenned again today while it was just sitting in front of me at my desk... is this a re-occuring problem or am I the only one? Any help advice or suggestions would be great... Thanx

I had the exact same problem. I got the phone 2 months ago. When I woke up the night after I had it just one day, the phone was 'dead'. I called VZ and they said remove the battery then put it back. It's happened two more times since. I don't know why it does it though. Other than that, the phone is fine.

Well, my phone is 2 months old so it is not brand new. It only happened 3 times so I am not overly concerned but I wonder why it does happen. Have you used the WAP svc yet? Im dying to try it but I wanted to use it on a minute per minute basis and VZ claims you cannot and have to subscribe for a unlimited flat fee of 5.00. Have u tried it? What can u do on it?

To all of you who have been experiencing the shutting off of this what seems to be a great phone I just want you to know that the problem does not correct itself and nor does it get any better. I had this phone mailed out to me earlier this summer and I had two of this same make and model in a 3 week time span and both of the phones shut off for no reason. Back then when I put my concern on this forum I no-one was experiencing this problem but it's good to know that I wasn't the only one with this problem. Since then I have replaced this phone with the LG VX6000 and have not had a problem yet. When I spoke with a VZW rep I was told that the problem with the LG VX4600 is that the power save mode was the reason why the phone was malfunct...

I guess the power save mode is doing it's job too well then, eh? 🤣

I haven't experienced this issue yet after about a month and a half with the two 4600's we have (although we don't use power save mode). I have seen a few posts about other LG phones displaying this issue as well but had not seen the power save explanation. Interesting.

Regarding the shutting off and freezing problem, this issue may be related to a software glitch in the "Power Save" function. And yes, you can turn off the "Power Save" function.

Try going into your "Power Save" settings ( * under "Display"), set it to "Always ON" and see if that cures the problem.

Menu -> 8 (Settings) -> 2 (Display) -> * (Power Save) -> Always ON (meaning the power is always on)

But why would anyone want a phone that MAY HAVE A SOFTWARE GLITCH!!!!! 👿 Sounds rather ignorant to me!!!! The problem lies deeper than just with POWER SAVE
