Side buttons

I just returned a LGVX 4500 because every time I picked up the phone I hit the side buttons and either changed the volume, activated the voice feature or muted a ringing call. It was very confusing and annoying. ☹️ The phone is so slim that it's hard to avoid the buttons, and they seem unusually sensitive. My question is for people who already have the 4600 or 6000. Do you have trouble with the side buttons? Any way to change the settings so that they don't automatically activate? I'm very interested in the 4600, and would like to know before I commit. Thanks!

The side buttons on the 4600 don't do anything when the phone is closed, except cause the date to show up on the outer display. With the phone open, it does respond like the 4500. I do find myself changing ringer volume occasionally as I grab the phone (if it is open). And when I am talking on it, I sometimes change the earpiece volume by mistakenly pushing the side buttons. Actually, I don't find it a big deal.
About the USB port, I don't think there is one--only a charging connection on the bottom.

I had the VX6000 for about a week, and returned it in favor of the VX4600, for that exact same reason. The buttons on the 6000 sucked. They were too small and smooth, couldnt really feel them at all. The VX4600 and better, bigger, and not as sensitive.
