I really like my new 4600 but I am now on my second one because the first one would turn itself off overnight when it was on the charger. The only way I could get the phone to turn back on was to remove the battery, then put the battery back in. The second VX4600 is doing the same thing and it even turned itself off without being on the charger. Verizon doesn't have an answer for this problem, nor has LG offered any explanation. This would really be a sweet phone if not for this annoyance. I wish the display was a little brighter than it is. Compared to my wife's Samsung A530S it is not as bright, but you can see it in the bright sun where as the a530 you can't. I haven't seen anyone else complain about this problem that I have now ha...

This happened to me too. I left my phone in my car while at work and when I got in and went to check for any missed calls the phone was dead. The only way to fix it was to take the battery out and put it back in. I thought maybe it was because of the heat or something but I guess it's a design flaw... it only happened once so far; I've had the phone for less than a week. I hope this is not a reoccurring problem.

My first phone locked up within the first week and the second phone locked up within two days after getting it. Verizon doesn't know if this is a hardware problem or a software problem. I am just glad to know that I am not the only one who has seen this problem. The phones are so new that not enough people have had a chance to buy this phone. The more people that get this phone the more that Verizon will be getting alot of calls.

While I have very limited experience with the 4600, I have seen the problem you describe quite frequently across all different phones. Usually it happens when the phones are brand new. In my store, we have a little remedy that usually works great to fix the problem. Take the battery off. Grab a pink (not green or any other color...trust me) pencil eraser. Use the eraser to rub the little tabs, both on the phone and the battery. The terminals oxidize for some reason, preventing power flow to the phone, causing your freeze and die problem. I've seen it ALOT with the Samsung A310, but other phones as well. Also, don't charge your phone every night, unless your battery is dead and it needs to be recharged. Hopefully those two tips will keep you ...

if it was very hot in the car, then it SHOULD have turned off. cellular phones should NOT be left in a parked car for ANY amount of time, considering the inside of a car can easily go over 100 degrees in a few minutes when parked in the sun in the summer. and usually, when subject to high temperatures, a phone WILL shut of and normally the ONLY way to get it to re-start is to remove the battery like you did. it doesn't sound like there is a "design flaw" at all with your phone, just bring it with you everywhere you go. if you HAVE TO leave it somewhere, do NOT leave it in your car or anywhere where the temperature can get VERY hot or even cold for that matter in the winter...
