Missed call/voicemail reminder beep?

My old phone had a feature which could beep periodically if there were an unacknowledged missed call or voicemail message. I have not figured out how to do this with my LG phone; if I get a call when I step out of the room for awhile (with the phone on my desk) I consequently may not notice it for awhile.

My old phone also had a handy vibrate-then-ring setting. The new LG phone doesn't seem to.

I also miss the ability to create my own ringtones; sure the old monophonic ringtones were 'bleepy', but I was able to do a lot of stuff programming from the keypad. Too many new ringtones don't sound like ringtones anymore.

Was your previous phone a Motorola?? I think that the missed call reminder alert is a standard for most Motorola phones only. I have never seen them on any phones made by any other company.

My previous phone was indeed a Motorola. The reception in my apartment was unacceptable (the LG is much better) but I liked it in a lot of other ways. I miss the vibe&ring, the missed-call-beep option, and the ability to create real custom ringtones. I wonder if USC will ever offer a BREW app. to do that the way the Motorola could (key ringtones via keypad)?

The vibe & ring option is now unavailable on LGs because it irritates most people (including myself) by taking so long to finally ring. But, the missed call beep thing can be accessed I THINK (not quiite sure) by going to Menu-Messages-Msg Settings-Msg Alerts-2 Min Alert. I just got my 5550, but I think that's what that option does. As for BREW apps, the closest you'll get is Easyedge (or maybe a data cable).

Just thought u might like to know, the LG5550 CAN be set to ring/ vibrate.... Quick Way. Open the clamshell. Use the side up/down volume buttons. Press untill only vibrate shows on screen, press ok to lock into memory. ALSO do the same thing with the up volume to full volume AND vibrate. Press OK to lock into memory... OR These can also be accessed by using MENU/9/1/3 and set from there....
