OK here is my question. To assign a downloaded ring to an entry in my phonebook. Can I? I cannot figure it out.

Why, yes you can. (At least for USCC phones, don't see why Alltel would be any different, you didn't say who your carrier is). Go into contacts, click OK on whichever contact you want the ringer for. Then hit the left soft key "Edit." go down to the bell icon, it should say default ringer, or whatever ringer you have assigned to it already. Once that is highlighted you can hit the side arrow keys to go through your ringer list, just hit OK to select that ringer. Hope this helps!

My carrier is Bell. I am Canadian.

I tried that. In contacts going through the available ringer list I only have the stock ringers. None of the downloaded rings appear in that list. The only way I can use the downloaded rings is to go to the downloads/ringers then on the ring I want to use I can set it as Caller id/no caller ID/roaming/voicemail/text messages.

That is all.
