While All the Reviewers Here Are Ejaculating Over the iPhone

Went into a Verizon store today and put one through its paces and believe me, there's lots to like.
What made me decide to wait for a 4G phone was that the same web pages loaded 3X FASTER on the Samsung Fascinate (a 3G Android) as they did on the iPhone.

FYI, 4G will cost you more when it gets rolling.... not available in my area until 2012 - 2013 so not a big deal for now... major metropolitan areas only... by then the iPhone 6 will be coming out....
...
It hasn't been determined that 4g will be any more expensive. Word from the grape vine says that if anything there would be tiered pricing but those people that have unlimited data plans would be grandfathered in.

Grandfathered in until you upgrade your phone. In which case, you will be upgrading to a 4G phone at that time which will nix your ability to grandfather in.
I also don't trust when 4G will truly be available. I'm fine with 3G for now. I'm pretty sure we aren't even using the full 3G spectrum anyway. And like freightdog said, 4G wouldn't be available to me until 2012 or 13 anyway so I'll figure it out then.
So far, the iPhone battery life lasts longer than my Droid Pro and the speeds are faster. Much less overall lag than the Galaxy S phone.

It does sound too good to be true. If I could keep my current plan (which is just plain awesome) then I would upgrade to 4G. Otherwise, I will stick with 3G until they cancel me.

Freightdog's 4G may not be available until 2012 or 2013 because he's nowhere near a major metropolitan area, but the FACTS are that the 1st Verizon 4G phones will be out in a matter of weeks and 4G data service is already available.

1st Verizon 4G phones will be out in a matter of months, not weeks, is the latest info. They pulled back on the HTC T-Bolt release due to software issues and it was scheduled for a 2/24 release.

THAT would change EVERYTHING! 🤤

Actually according to my Verizon rep, 4G costs LESS to run than 3G. Which is why the mobile broadband plans for Verizon cost $10/mo. less for a 4G card
