... after they are going to be offering the iphone they are cancelling the New Every 2 option on the plans..I wonder how many of the $350 ETF's they expect to get from that move..
...
Those who signed up 2 year contracts prior to the policy change will still be entitled to their NE2 when they are 20 months into their 2 year contracts.
...
yeh, but not for anyone signing a first time contract. People who are currently available for one will be grandfathered in but not for newbies...

And if those people sign a 2 year agreement knowing they won't get a NE2, they have NO RIGHT to complain when they don't get it.
Not to mention, if someone cancels over a $50 (or less) credit 4 months before their contract ends (the only time NE2 matter) then they have bigger problems than their contract.
Did you mean the annual upgrade? That's to be expected (and ATT didn't allow the annual upgrade pricing on iPhone's either. It was 2yr+ $200)
...
Unless you were the primary account holder, they offered a new iphone to them every year. 20 month to all else. Now, I'm not sure if it has to do with being on Premier via work? The fact I don't have a cheap plan? Or just them doing one time early upgrade deals for new iPhones?

Yes, and they had to pay the 2yr price on the iphone plus $200.
The annual upgrade for Verizon customers was 2 year price+ $20. (Att has an annual upgrade on 2yr contracts for a similar price as well, but you could not use it on the iphone)

And that matters how? I know about the news of the Ne2 dropping. heck, I (and a lot of other people) knew about it before it was posted on phonescoop.
it doesn't matter. The fact remains that if you HAD a Ne2, you still have one. If you're signing up now, or re-signing, you have NO REASON to expect a NE2.
So again, why in the world would people pay a 350 ETF over something they KNOW they're not getting?

😳, um did the level of discourse just get bumped up? I had just heard about it, and was only in relation to the timing of the release of the iphone that I was commenting on...
I'm currently on an old plan with Verizon so I know that I still have an upgrade available. And if they change that, well, c'est la vie..

The Ne2 was going away anyway (as were annual upgrades as we know them)
They're not financially feasible anymore. A lot of the popular phones are already discounted so much that retailers were losing money, even after getting money back for the contract commission.
The iphone made it convienent (and nessesary) to drop it now, but it wasn't like the programs would stay around even if Verizon didn't get the iphone.
