?Weak Signal Strength? 24.0 db from FCC filing. Are you kidding me?

by phil3315    Jan 11, 2011, 3:49 PM

I looked it up on the FCC database in the SAR report, as I always do for new phones, and i was horrified! 24db is awful for a CDMA phone, the only thing I've see worse are the Casio rugged phones that have terrible reception in weak areas.
I've been reading the FCC SAR reports for 10 years and found that real world coverage, dropped calls, missed calls, etc follow the conducted output power very closely. It has always helped me to choose phones with the best reception possible. So I guess I won't be getting an iPhone...

If i wanted an iPhone that didn't work in part of my house, or my office, or on the back roads, etc, I could have got one 4 years ago from at&t...

Apple, Verizon, please prove me wrong, show me that your wrap around antenna design that was so bad on the iPhone 4 for at&t is somehow going to give the CDMA iPhone 4 excellent coverage at a low 24.0db power level. Better yet, send me one and I'll test it & let you know. I've been with Verizon wireless since 1996, when it was Bell Atlantic Mobile... And I haven't seen a great phone for a long time, please tell me you didn't ruin this one...
