First Impressions. Maybe a little early............

Display is awesome. 4G is Awesome. Size and weight are really good, but I don't have small hands. Battery seems fine, depending on how I've used it.

OK. Now some things that bug me.
First, the start up procedure is sloooow.
Why does it have to rescan the SD card every time it starts. From the first Samsung splash screen, until the phone is usable, I'm going to put it at somewhere near a minute, maybe a little over.

Second, GPS is almost non-functional. Maybe it's the handset I have, but it takes at least two minutes to get a GPS signal. My old Droid X lock on and is ready to go in mere seconds. I placed both phones next to each other in the backyard, and the difference was remarkable.

Third, sounds. When the phone is turned on, the noise it makes is startling. Same goes when I turn it off. In the sound settings, there is a slider for "system volume". Moving the slider all the way down turns off the start up and shut off sounds. The problem is it doesn't stay there. There are separate volume sliders for ringtone, media, and system. The others don't seem to reset themselves.

Fourth, ringtones. Not nearly loud enough at full volume to be heard if it's in my pocket. Vibrate is also not strong enough. And the ringtones themselves..... Some of us actually work in the corporate world. How about more than one non-musical ringtone?

Fifth, the UI overlay. Why oh why are the icons not in alphabetical order unless I manually rearrange them? The list view is sorted alphabetically, but the icons are not. Really?

Maybe these are some of the things that are being addressed before the phone is released. Maybe getting the phone before the release date isn't as cool as I thought it would be. But you'd think that as a "flagship" phone, everything would work before they put them in the boxes and shipped them to the stores.
