Battery life in both phone appears to be LTE activity dependent. On the Thunderbolt LTE can be turned off, and presumably on the Droid Charge also.

One tester evaluated batteries by streaming video over LTE; the two were very similar with the Thunderbolt outlasting the Droid Charge.

The Droid Charge's benchmark scores must be due to bloatware; rooted and rom'd Galaxy S models with the same processor regularly equal or exceed the numbers posted by the Thunderbolt.

However, outside the US the dual core Galaxy S II appears to be available. It has the same screen as the Droid Charge but includes a dual core processor, Gingerbread 2.3 version of Android with Touchwiz 4.0 (which includes accelerometer integration, and the more conventional Galaxy S (Facinate at Verizon) form factor and styling. By comparison the Droid Charge seems like last year's model.
