Will This Phone Support Netflix?

by DavidNJ    Mar 22, 2011, 12:23 AM

It is a DRM issue. iPhone and Windows Mobile support it. The LG Revolution a new version Qualcomm Snapdragon, still based on the A8 Cortex, was shown with Netflix.

However Samsung is using Samsung's own Humminbird version of the A8 Cortex. As you would expect from a video company vs. a datacomm company, Samsung's version has had better graphics. Enough better that a v2.1 Hummingbird runs smoother than a v2.2 Snapdragon.

However, does the Hummingbird have the hardware for DRM? Did Samsung make the iPhone processors? The iPhone was the first to support Netflix.

The idea of watching movies on the train is attractive, although many of the classic movies I like are not on Netflix streaming service.
